Fall Festivals are Right Around the Corner

When school starts back, it can bring bittersweet feelings. Many kids are disappointed that summer is over but many parents welcome the break. Temperatures will still be warm along the Gulf Coast for a few more months so we can still enjoy the beach but there is even more to look forward to this Fall season.

For seafood lovers, the Destin Seafood Festival is a much anticipated event each year. October 6th – 8th, visitors will enjoy freshly caught local seafood from local food vendors along the Harbor. All three days will have live music, fun and games for people of all ages. There are three separate Kid Zones which will include a petting zoo, hamster balls, and rock climbing wall. This annual festival is free admission and open to the public.

The 22nd Annual Festival of the Arts will be October 28th & 29th at Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation. Over 100 artists from all over the country showcase their art and compete for cash prizes. Along with a vast selection of unique pieces to admire or purchase, guests will also enjoy live music and great food.

This November will be the first annual Harvest Wine & Food Festival. This new South Walton festival will be held in WaterColor during November 2nd – 4th. Ticket holders will enjoy a Celebrity Winemaker Dinner on Thursday, an Al Fresco Reserve Tasting on Friday, and a Grand Tasting on Saturday. Over 150 wines from around the world will be featured as well as craft beer and spirits.

Seaside’s Seeing Red Wine Festival will be November 9th – 12th and has been recognized as one of the “Top 10 Can’t-Miss Fall Wine Festivals” by Fodor’s Travel. This will be the 27th anniversary of the festival which has grown to be a sell-out event. Special guest Chefs will be on hand to create elegant meals to pair with featured wine. 30A vacation rentals are available near the event to enjoy the full festival.

Along with these special annual events, select summer series will continue on into Fall. Every Sunday in September you can enjoy free concerts at Gulf Place. Seaside Cinema will show family-friendly films each Friday night at 8pm. The Hub 30A has family movies each Wednesday night. So there is no need to be sad the summer is ending. There is plenty of fun to be had the rest of the year!
