The 26th Annual ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival will be held in Grand Boulevard on May 9th-11th. Beginning on Monday, local galleries will participate in “Gallery Nights” each night before the festival. Special parties will be held and open to the public. On Friday from 8pm-11pm, there will be an “After Hours Beach Bash” on the Grand Park lawn with drinks, food and live music. The festival will feature over 100 artists and include art demonstrations and live entertainment. This event is produced by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County and has become a premier event for South Walton. For overnight accommodations, Garrett Realty Services can assist in finding the ideal vacation rental.
With Locals Last Stand such a success last year, the celebration will once again be held this year at Eden Gardens State Park. The free party and concert will take place Thursday, May 22nd. Boukou Grove and The Wildlife Specials will perform followed by a local jam session until 10pm. Guests are invited to bring chairs and blankets, drinks and snacks to the event. All proceeds will benefit The Friends of Eden, a local non-profit organization that works to help maintain the park. Eden Gardens is a 161-acre park located just a few miles north of Seaside. Ancient moss-draped live oaks, rose gardens, and a Koi pond are highlights of the grounds with the historic Wesley House the focal point.
Gregg Allman will be performing live in concert at Gulf Place on 30A May 28th. Gulf Place will donate a portion of the concert’s proceeds to the Special Operation Warrior Foundation in honor of Memorial Day. Owner of Gulf Place, John Gaston says they will offer special rates for active and retired military as well to honor those who serve for the country. This is the first time visiting South Walton for Allman despite a lifetime of touring. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has been hailed as one of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time” by Rolling Stone magazine.
