Gearing Up for the Spring Season in South Walton

What does the spring season mean for the Beaches of South Walton? Warmer weather, bluer skies and longer days at the beach. It’s a time for festivals, concerts and a calendar full of outdoor events. It’s spring time! 

It’s time for live music and outdoor movies! Spring opens up with outdoor concerts and movies throughout the beach towns of 30A. Seaside presents Central Square Cinema beginning March 17th. Every Friday night at 7pm you can enjoy a family friendly film under the stars. Alys Beach begins its Spring Concert on Wednesday, March 15th from 6-8pm. Every Wednesday enjoy the outdoors with some good tunes. Bring a blanket or chair unless you plan to dance the night away! 

It’s time to run! The 15th Annual Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Race takes place on Sunday, March 5th. Run down the powder white sand that South Walton beaches are famous for and through the quaint beach towns of 30A. With over 4,000 participants from all over the country this is bound to be one exciting event! 

Along with the race comes some lively events and expos. On Friday, March 3rd, Emeril Lagasse spices the weekend up with Taste of the Race. This event takes place at Seaside from 7-9pm and includes some delicious food, live music and a celebration like no other. On Saturday the Race Expo & Silent Auction is one big party with vendors, food and live entertainment. On Sunday, let the races begin!

It’s wine time! Come spring the wine events start pouring in. First taste is the 6th Annual 30A Wine Festival. The Grand Tasting takes place on Saturday, March 11th in Alys Beach where you can taste wines from across the globe with more than 80 showcased.  

Second sip is The South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival. Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th, are filled with Grand Tasting events, seminars, live music and Champagne lanes! 800 bottles of wine are available for you to sip on and perfectly paired with delicious fare. Destin Charity Wine Auction in an unsurpassed charity event that will take place on Saturday. The purpose of the event is to raise money for children in need in the Northwest Florida area.
