Although our beautiful beaches are reason enough to visit the Emerald Coast, there are many other fun and interesting places for the entire family to visit while in the area.

There are many great fishing opportunities available, especially in the Destin area, known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.” You can choose from an inshore or offshore trolling charter trip, deepsea bottom fishing excursion on a party boat, or fish from the local piers with your own equipment or rental gear that is available.

There are also many lakes, streams and tributaries for those freshwater fishing enthusiasts.
Go behind the scenes on a guided tour of Gulf World Marine Park's backstage areas! This walking tour is designed to show you how our park operates on a day-to-day basis. Highlighted on this tour is a session with one of our dolphins. You can feel the silky skin as they glide past for a back rub. Enjoy Gulf World Marine Park's Day Camp Program. , a zoological and botanical park, is home to more than 350 animals and more than 250 species of plants and trees. The park offers you a unique educational opportunity to view many different animals, as well as several species of endangered animals and plants while strolling through an extraordinary lush botanical setting. For those interested in Military history, the Air Force Armament Museum just outside Eglin Air Force Base houses armament dating back to World War I. The museum is free and open to the public seven days a week.
The whole family can enjoy a funfilled day at Shipwreck Island Water Park or Miracle Strip Amusement Park located nearby in Panama City Beach.
Other recreational activities include biking, golfing, boating, snorkeling, diving, and canoeing. If you enjoy wildlife and nature the Eastern Lake/Bike/Hike trails offer three loop trails of 3.5, 5 and 10 miles.
