Beachcrest Reviews
Our time at the condo was such a blessing. We spent 3 nights enjoying
beautiful weather, gorgeous beaches, tasty seafood (and Angelina's Italian),
and time together. No complaints at all with the unit or building! It is so close
to the beach (short walk down a small boardwalk), across the street from a few
little restaurants, less than a mile from the grocery store, and we never had to
wait on the elevator. I loved having beach chairs everyday and miss sleeping
with the door to the porch "slightly open" to hear the ocean - all night! If you
go, be sure to take your own toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, paper
towels/napkins, salt/pepper, coffee filters, kleenex, laundry detergent, and
trash bags. You have enough to make it through a day or two, but no more
than that. As for the area, be sure to try a cinnamon roll from Modica Market
in Seaside, The Red Bar for dinner in Grayton Beach, and pizza or pasta from
Angelina's (right across the street!). Also, Bayou Bill's on Highway 98 between
Seacrest and Destin (in Santa Rosa) is the best seafood restaurant! Snow crabs
are divine!!! Enjoy the gorgeous Gulf Coast; praise be to God for the beauty! Reviewed on Thursday, May 20, 2010 We have always stayed at One Seagrove Place and decided to stay at Beachcrest for a change. We were very pleased. We liked alot of things better, such as: the layout of the rooms, the grilling area, the pool, the beach access, elevator speed and convenience, the other guests, the smaller amount of units, and the overall feel of the establishment. I don't know if I would choose 605 again because it had several issues that probably need to be checked. The refirgerator light did not work, the remote controls to the bedroom televisions did not work, the dish washer did not want to close, and the the pillows and bedding seemed to be lacking. We definately plan to stay at Beachcrest again and did have a wonderful time. Thnak you for making it such a welcoming place. Reviewed on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 This unit was very spacious and bright. The location is perfect if you don't want to ride an elevator - it is on the second floor, with easy access to steps down to parking lot (one floor)
Quiet on the end, with very pretty views.
The furniture was comfortable - My suggestion would be for some minor improvements - new coffee maker (old, stained, bad taste), master shower curtain replace - moldy, and the outside screens for both patio doors need to be replaced, rusted, holes in screen and between the top and building - allowed bugs inside and would not easily open or close. The pool was nice, and the access to the beach excellent -- close to Seaside too. We will visit again. Reviewed on Friday, September 25, 2009 what an awesome time, beach, condo, realty service ever!!!I am so glad that I used trip advisor in planning our summer vacation. The condo was just great.Checking in with garret realty was a breeze.I cannot say enough good things about our whole experience.I would definitely stay at this condo and use garrett realty again....the bed was so comfortable, loved sitting on the balcony and drinking morning coffee overlooking the aqua blue water and white sands...the pool was perfect size and all the fellow vacationeers were all so friendly....this was not a party condo, thank goodness....the location of the condo is central to everything you would need,(gas 1/2 block away, grocery store approx.1 mi away, there's even a video store across the street)...In the morning we all swam at the beach,(which is a short bridge walk over a dune)and in the evening we went back to the beach until dark..In the afternoon we took day trips to the dune lakes, fudpuckers gator farm, ponce de leon springs and charming Seaside....We would all go back in a heartbeat....So do stay in Beachcrest 304!!....(This is my first written review ever, but I just felt so compelled to thank all involved in our awesome family summer vacation experience that I,my husband and kids will never forget and will always remember.)....So thank you, thank you to tripadvisor, garrett realty and the condo owners... Reviewed on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 This is the 2nd year we have stayed in the same condo,(801) and WE LOVE IT!!!! It is decorated blue & Fish, like I would have chosen, and it is over the pool & close to the BBQ side so I can call down & see if we need something brought down... only thing I noticed this last time ,not enough towels, without having to wash more often! Hope to stay in same 8o1 each year, as long as we can afford it! The price comm=ing down for repeat customers, hint-hint- is a guarantee that we'll be back!! Thanks so much!!!! Austin, Texas. Reviewed on Saturday, July 11, 2009 Our family has chosen to stay with BeachCrest twice a year for the past three years now. We have never been disappointed with our service from Garett Realty, and the rooms we have stayed in have been wonderful. BeachCrest itself is a very family-oriented and kid-friendly place to stay. We have three children, two are very young, and we have never had issues that prevented us from having a wonderful time at any point of our stay!
304 is decorated nicely and has a great view. One might get the feeling you are at home because it is just so comfortable at this place--especially the plush suede couch! You aren't so high up that it takes a while on the elevator, and you are close enough to the ground that if you needed to call to your teen or other family in the pool, you don't have to shout and disturb everyone else! You are just at the right level to have an unobstructed view of the gulf, too!
As far as location, BeachCrest itself is the best place to stay because you are close to anything you might need: Publix is just a couple of right turns down the road, fresh seafood and a couple eateries within walking distance, and you are a bike ride or a short car drive down from Seaside where ther is so much to see and do.
If I could change anything about the room 304 in particular, it would be to add carpet in the living room and tile only the bathrooms and kitchen. Also, if you like to cook when staying, 304 could use some more dishes and larger pots. I had to cook my crab in two batches because the largest pot was not big enough!
Other than those terribly minor and "nit-picky" suggestions, I HIGHLY recommend 304!
Reviewed on Thursday, June 25, 2009 Our family has returned to Beachcrest some 18 times over the years. When we stay elsewhere, we are always disappointed. The pool is great and the included beach service is a huge draw for us. Now with Publix nearby, we can get groceries easily. Our room is always ready and clean. The elevators have been updated and there was no waiting. Office staff is friendly and helpful. Our condo could use a little updating--popcorn ceilings, fans that were not hardwired, and a sofa bed that was so uncomfortable our daughter chose to sleep on the sofa rather than pull it out--but overall, our stay was as lovely as the weather. P.S. What's with the seaweed? Over the years, we've noticed a rise--not in clumps of seaweed, but in fine, thin rows of it that can be uninviting for swimmers. Reviewed on Monday, June 22, 2009 The staff was friendly, and the unit was decorated nice. My family of 4 was very comfortable. The kitchen was equipped well, so we saved a lot of money by cooking in. It was convenient to the pool which thrilled my children, and the heated pool was very nice. We found the complex to be very quiet and family oriented. The condo was small, but everything worked and we had no problems at all. [Contrast this with our stay in a $4000 house during Thanksgiving in North Carolina. Even though it was new, the carpet was filthy, some of the appliances didn't work, the refrigerator broke (a disaster for Thanksgiving cooking) and none of the dvd players worked. A good portion of our time was spent waiting on repairs. My point being this, sometimes better things come in small packagaes!] !!!!!!!!! We would definitely stay here again because it was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 young children! Reviewed on Monday, April 27, 2009 The home was quite nice, very comfortable, etc. Lovely location,
setting, amenities. Clean, family-friendly beach, quaint surrounding
communities. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
My only disappointment(s) was in the supplies left in the condo.
Would have been really nice to know prior to leaving home exactly
what we would need (as in a detailed list) would've been nice to have
at least one coffee filter, a few paper towels, maybe a tissue or even a
few spices ( salt & pepper )
Otherwise, a nice property with a wonderful view, great beach and
pool. Reviewed on Thursday, April 23, 2009
